Kabaddi shame: Punjab sports department yet to take action
Ludhiana: The women’s Kabaddi World champions, Indian team, was left embarrassed when they had to take the auto ride after exiting the hotel with world Cup trophy and prize cheques. The incident had led to numerous speculations but the Punjab sports department seems unmoved. The Punjab sports department is yet to take action against the officials responsible for the players’ embarrassment.
The Indian women’s Kabaddi team won the world title for the first time this year. Despite that, the players were subjected to go through the embarrassment that is likely to be forgotten. The Punjab government, at the post-match presentation, was ecstatic with the performance of the Indian team during the tournament but changed their stand as early as on the second day. The team players were left stranded on the road for a ride on the next day with trophy and cheque in their hands.

Australia and USA were disqualified as most of their players were found dope positive by NADA.
The closing ceremony began with an impressive police and army band presentation in the fully floodlit newly upgraded Guru Nanak Stadium.

Kabaddi players asked to play soon after accident
(Source: TOI) BATHINDA: Simarjit Kaur has been unfit due to ligament injury in ankle, Mandeep Kaur has minor soft tissue injury of thigh, Jasbir Kaur has minor soft tissue injury of both knees, Kulwinder Kaur soft tissue injury of right shoulder. All these are no ordinary persons but are members of Indian woman kabaddi team, who had sustained injuries while the bus they were travelling had caught fire after an accident on Thursday evening.
