Punjab, India: 9 Players who played in the World Kabaddi Cup 2010 in Punjab tested positive for using banned drugs while playing in the Kabaddi Cup. All Players were tested for any drugs in their blood after each match. Samples were then sent to the lab for testing. Now the results are back and they have found 9 players has positive results. It is not yet known which country the players belong to.
This has left the Punjab Government and the World Kabaddi Cup 2010 in a shaddow of doubt. None of the officials or organizers of the World Kabaddi Cup 2010 were available for comment.

Ludhiana, Punjab: The first World Kabaddi Cup has been won by India by defeating Pakistan. Final Score, India 58 and Pakistan 24. Team India dominated Pakistan right from the get go. Indian Stopper Mangi was stopping every raider that he faced. On the other side Sukhbir and Guljari were un-stopabale. Team Pakistan tried their best but Indian players were on fire.
World Cup Results:
1st = India
2nd = Pakistan
3rd = Canada
Government of Punjab has done a wonderful job by organizing a great Kabaddi World Cup.

AMRITSAR: Speaking at the jam-packed Guru Nanak Stadium Amritsar, Deputy Chief Minister Punjab and Chairman of World Kabaddi Cup Punjab-2010 Sukhbir Singh Badal said that according to the latest TRP survey by the International Agencies, World cup Kabaddi Punjab -2010 has left much behind the much touted IPL, forcing the International broadcasters to rethink their communication strategy.
Expressing satisfaction over the conduct of World Kabaddi cup tournament, Mr. Badal said that unexpected massive response to World Kabaddi Cup – 2010 tournament reflected the pent up love for this traditional game, which has burst into open with this tournament.
Badal further said that World Kabaddi Tournament would be made regular feature. All out efforts would be made to promote all traditional games of Punjab including Hockey, he declared.
A new sports Policy focusing on development of rural sports would be formulated soon. Directions were being issued to the concerned department to fill the back log of sports quota jobs within six months, he added. He further said that SAD-BJP Government had already granted recognition to the circle style Kabaddi and efforts would be made to get circle Kabaddi included in the Asian , Common Wealth and the Olympic games.
He announced that Indian Premier Kabaddi (IPK) league on the pattern of IPL for cricket was in pipeline to promote kabaddi at international level besides to give global exposure to kabaddi players. Eight sports stadiums would be upgraded to the International standard, he added. He said that games can wean away our youth from drugs creating a healthy society, which was the need of the hour.
Continuing its winning campaign in 1st World Kabaddi Cup, Punjab- 2010, Pakistan crushed United Kingdom by 50-23 points on the 6th day of this International event here at Guru Nanak Stadium. With this victory Pakistan is topping in pool “B” by wining all the three matches and desk has been cleared for semi final. It had already defeated Canada and Spain. In other two matches Italy floored USA by 45-43 points and Australia defeated Iran by 57-26 points.
The lively commentary, made by eminent sports writer Principal Sarwan Singh, Prof. Makhan Singh and renowned comedian Bhagwant Mann, was widely appreciated by the spectators. All the commentators entertained the crowd with their perfect oratory skills coupled with rural idiom, history of Kabbadi and strong points of both present and past players.

Gurdaspur: India continued its winning streak in the World Cup Kabaddi tournament and notched up its fourth straight win by crushing Iran 62-28 here on Wednesday. India now tops Pool-A with four wins out of four matches. India had defeated America, Italy and Australia in their last three matches, before getting past Iran. Sukhvir Singh Sarawan with 14/14 points was the best raider from the Indian squad and Hardeep Singh Dhilon was the best defender as he clamped 5/5 his attempts. Italy had to work hard to defeat Austalia in the first match of the day (Pool A) as it outplayed the kangaroos by 47-43 in a well contested match. Channa Kheeranwali of Italy was the best raider as he clinched 14 points out of 16. Harjinder Singh blocked his three rivals by showing his powerful grip. It was italy’s second victory out of three matches. In the third match of the day Canada thrashed England 49-29 as Canada’s riders and defenders showed their worth during all the match. Kuljeeta Malsiana got seven points out of seven and Sandeep Nangal defended 7/7 and was the best defender.
