Paksitan receives 13m for Good Show in World Cup 2012
A grand reception was held at Muslim League House Islamabad to honour the Pakistan kabaddi team which finished runners-up in the recently-concluded Kabaddi World Cup in India. Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) president Chaudhry Shujaat Huaasin was the chief guest while secretary Rana M Sarwar along with players and coaches were also present on the occasion. The chief guest distributed a total of Rs 13 million among 17 players and two coaches as each individual get approximately around Rs 825,000. The PKF chief lauded the team’s performance and hoped the team would continue giving exceptional performances in the future too bringing laurels for the country.
Pakistan gear up for Kabaddi World Cup

LAHORE: (Source: The News) All Punjab Gold Cup Kabaddi floodlight tournament will be held from May 26 to 29 at Chicha Watani. President, Punjab Kabaddi Association, Arshad Jutt (MPA) said on Thursday that teams from all over the province will feature in the four-day event.He said Muhammad Qayyum has been named as the organizing secretary of the competition. Malik Nadim Kamran, Provincial Minister Zakat & Usher, Govt of Punjab will be the chief guest for the opening ceremony. And Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly will be the Chief Guest of Closing Ceremony. " The event offers a total cash prize of one hundred thousand ",he said.
Pakistan’s Canada Cup Kabaddi Preparations Under Way
The Pakistan Kabaddi Federation will hold an open trial in Islamabad later this month in order to finalize their team selection for the prestigious Canada Cup Kabaddi Tournament in August this year.
This year’s tournament, to be held in Toronto from August 6th until August 16th, will feature the world’s eight best teams – Pakistan, India, England, USA, Australia, Iran, New Zealand and the host nation, Canada.
Pakistan will select twenty players from the upcoming trials, which are scheduled to be held on May 18th. The federation plans to invite players from all of the country’s top teams, Wapda, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Air Force, Army, Navy, Police and Higher Education Commission, while the trials are also open to any other players who believe they have the skills and the talents needed to make an impact in the Kabaddi world cup.
Pakistan to feature in Canada Cup
LAHORE: (Source: Daily Times)..The Pakistan Kabadii Federation (PKF) will hold open trials on May 18 in Islamabad for the selection of a national team that will take part in the Canada Cup Kabaddi Tournament to be played from August 6-16 in Toronto. “In all twenty players will be selected from the trials to undergo training in Islamabad to launch their preparations on modern ways to fetch encouraging results in the event,” said PKF president Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain. The Canada Cup will be participated by world’s best eight teams including Australia, England, India, Iran, New Zealand, USA, Pakistan and hosts Canada.
International Beach Kabaddi Championship
Islamabad— (Source: Pakistan Observer) The 2nd International Beach Kabaddi Championship will be held from June 10-12 at Manora, Karachi, Secretary Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) Mohammad Sarwar said on Friday.
Talking to APP he said that the event to be conducted with the cooperation of Pakistan Navy would be participated by Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Iran.
He said that the PKF would also field all its affiliated units in the tournament. He said teams from all the four provinces, Azad Kashmir, WAPDA, Army, Police, Navy, PAF, HEC and Railways will feature in the event. Thus it will provide an opportunity to our players to face international players, he said adding that it would also provide opportunity to PKF to hunt new talent.
Cultural activities revival: KP govt launches indigenous games
PESHAWAR: (Source: thenews.com.pk) As part of revival of the cultural activities, the provincial sports ministry and Tourism Corporation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) have launched a series of indigenous games in various districts of the province.
Following a high-level meeting attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Aqil Shah, Secretary for Sports Culture and Tourism Muhammad Azam Khan, Director General of sports Khan Zeb and other relevant authorities, a two-member committee comprising director sports development and TCKP Focal Person Jamshed Ali Khan was constituted to collect data of various indigenous games in the province.
Pakistan to host Asian Kabaddi event in December
KARACHI: The Asian Kabaddi Championship, which was postponed last year, has been rescheduled and will now be held in Islamabad in December, an official of the Pakistan Kabaddi Federation (PKF) said on Wednesday.
“We have finally decided to hold it in the first week of December in which 13 countries from the continent will show their mettle,” PKF secretary Mohammad Sarwar told ‘The News’ on Wednesday.
